Theodore Roth, a PhD student at UC San Francisco explains much of his work and research on Gene editing (knocking one sequence out, and another sequence in) using CRISPR. Utilizing Cas9 proteins along with CRISPR sequences allows for accurate knockouts and even implantation of sequence corrections, becoming the basis for therapies and burgeoning treatments. Mr. Roth’s research in gene editing and immunology creates a fascinating framework for this lecture on CRISPR/Cas9 interactions.
