Dayne Gradone traveled to Kenya to learn the role indigenous herbalists, called chepkerichot, play in the provision of community health care. He learned about the methods and plants used in their healing practices, but he also returned with a passion for the land and its people. Gradone shares his experiences, including interviews with herbalists and medical staff at rural dispensaries. He also tells of his experiences in extended herb harvesting trips with the chepkerichot.
