Dr. Stachura and his students primarily study the molecular control of blood cell development. In this presentation, he explains why they are interested in how hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) proliferate and differentiate into progenitors and mature functional blood/immune cells. While they are interested in how blood cells are made and differentiate, they also have an interest in the dysregulation of these cells and their role in hematopoietic disease.
