China’s New Population Crisis

 Dr. Song begins her story being born and raised in Linyi, of the Shandong Province in China. She talks about her experiences of always sharing a room with other girls in China and how lonely it was when she came to the United States and began living on her own. Her presentation includes population data and an analysis of different countries’ gender count. Dr. Song elaborates on how a low birth rate, rapidly aging population, and dangerously unbalanced gender ratio pushed China into a new demographic era.
