Jessica Chiartas PhD Candidate Department of Land, Air, and Water Resources UC, Davis
Some might think dirt is useless and disgusting but it is actually very important to our ecosystem and environment. In this presentation, Jessica Chiartas explains how soil microbes can be the solution to various agricultural and environmental issues. She breaks down the actual compounds and organic matter of the soil for the audience to understand what is in the ground beneath them. Ms. Chiartas would like to further her research to understand how we can use this knowledge to strengthen root systems, soil, and other important agriculture.
