To mark the 100th anniversary of the 2017 Russian Revolution, three CSU, Chico faculty discuss the significance of that event as it relates to their respective academic disciplines. The panel discussion was presented in conjunction with the special traveling exhibition, “Revolutionizing the World,” at the Jackie Headley Gallery on the CSU, Chico campus, January 29-March 24, 2018. The exhibition includes posters, photographs, paintings, and other artifacts from the Russian Revolution. The exhibition came to campus through the efforts of panel member Dr. Kate Transchel, whose expertise is in Eastern European and Russian History. A special focus in this presentation is the role of propaganda, including art, in the Bolsheviks coming to power in Russia and holding onto it.
Recorded: February 6, 2018
