Michelle Anderson Curran

Born and raised in Chico, Michelle spent a semester of her CSU, Chico education studying abroad in Thailand and living in one of Bangkok’s largest red-light districts. She lived and worked in a residence that reached out to girls and women working as prostitutes. Michelle shares some of the situations she encountered as an English teacher, roommate, and friend of trafficked victims, and discusses the often uncomfortable realities of living as a modern-day abolitionist after she returned home to Chico.
