In this presentation, Professor Matray takes a different approach observing world leaders today. He points out President Donald J. Trump claimed in September 2018 that he and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un "fell in love" three months earlier during their meeting in Singapore. The two met again personally in 2019, each issuing statements proclaiming mutual affection. Professor Matray discusses the reasons for this "bromance" and its significance for the future of U.S.-North Korean relations.
